Are you interested in how to get rid of belly fat fast? If you are, you’re one of a lot of people. This has been a major concern for a lot of people which is the reason why the weight loss industry has been profiting a lot.
Here’s a little tidbit about the weight loss and supplement industry. Did you know that 94% of the bodybuilding and fitness magazines are owned by supplement manufacturers? It’s crazy.
That’s why you see so many ads in them (aren’t they about 70% ads and 30% content?) with super hot models in string bikinis that have rockin bodies.
They’re just like polititans, they’re all bought and paid for so you can’t believe a word they say.
Sorry about that rant, just my two cents.
Many people are so interested in getting the quick fix that they would invest in treatments or medications that would be their “miracle cure”. Getting rid of fat fast may not always be a very healthy process. If you want to be safe, losing the belly fat gradually should be the way to go.
People will get plastic surgery, tummy tucks, the oBand surgery, gastric bypass surgery all to lose some excess lipid fat near their stomachs. I don’t get it. A simple diet and lifestyle change would do the trick but in this case people turn to invasive medical procedures in order to get a better body.
It’s because of this quick fix attitude that people go through yoyo dieting. Knowing there’s a quick fix for their problem makes them abuse their bodies every chance they get.
It’s like saying, “I can jump out of this perfectly good airplane because I have a parachute” right? What’s the difference. As long as they have that insurance to fall back on, they can keep eating a high carbohydrate diet and hate themselves for it.
We need to develop an attitude that should help us in the long run. Are you familiar with the saying, “Sow an act…reap a habit; Sow a habit…reap a character; sow a chcaracter…reap a destiny.” In the same way, we should sow an act repeatedly that will somehow help us achieve our destiny, which is to have a flat stomach.
But hopefully our destiny on earth is a little more encompassing than just having a smaller waist right? At the end of your life, you want to be known for contributing to the world in some kind of meaningful way also. But for now, we’ve got excess abdominal fat we want to get rid of here.
There’s nothing wrong with starting to exercise. However, instead of just exercising, it would be wise to evaluate your current habits. Consider the things that you do that had contributed to having that belly fat in the first place. After all, that fat wasn’t created in a day. That means you’ve been contributing to it which you need to stop.
You’re doing things on a daily basis that are keeping you from being healthy and fit but you probably don’t even know it.
Below are things that you should be aware of that are actually contributing to that belly fat.
I know, everybody hates counting calories. It’s so inconvenient to keep track of the calories everytime you eat. Unfortunately, desperate times call for desperate measures. If you really want to lose that gut fast, then you’ll need to be aware of everything you’re eating.
I suggest keeping a food log or food diary where you track and record all your caloric intake each day. Typically these include portion size, time of day and more to help you really see how much food you’re eating. I did this a few years back and it shocked me.
Cut Your Alcohol Intake
By now, you should be aware that alcohols have a lot of empty calories. You may want to cut back your alcohol drinking. After all, there’s a reason why they call it beer belly.
Beer is particularly the worst as it contains obscene amounts of estrogen forming hops. Avoid this foamy beverage and opt for a green vegetable juice instead to relax. The magnesium alone will help more than beer.
Cut Down On Sugar
Sugar is one of the biggest contributors of big bellies. You will find that sugar is present in most junk foods, pastries, sodas, etc. The sugar here is usually processed sugar, or simple sugars. Unlike fruits, which burn more slowly, these sugars are easily digested and converted into energy. If you don’t have an active lifestyle, all those energy will be converted into fat. If you have a sweet tooth, or enjoy some sweets, make sure to do them right before you exercise.
Remember any white flour, wheat or grain product will contain excess carbohydrates which turn into sugar thus raising your insulin levels. Can we say pancreatic cancer or diabetes?
In order to get rid of that “energy storage” in your body, you’ll need to deplete that energy. To do that, you’ll need to increase your activities in any way you can. Try to skip on those activities which leave you stationary. If you work on the 5th floor of the building, instead of taking the elevator, use the stairs instead. Taking the stairs daily will not only help burn calories, it will also extend your life by exercising your heart, lungs, and legs.
It’s so important to build a daily schedule around your gym or weight lifting routines. You have to schedule around this time instead of the other way around. Otherwise you won’t get anything done. There are always excuses.
Work towards your goal. You can’t expect to have a flat belly when you just sit on the couch all day. Make it a habit to work your muscles. There’s nothing wrong with strengthening your ab muscles also, though it won’t necessarily mean that it will magically get rid of your belly fat.
I’m sure you’ll be tempted to just buy medicine that will “magically” get rid of those belly fat. But I would strongly advise against it. You shouldn’t be solely concerned about how to get rid of belly fat fast. You should be more concerned about getting rid of belly fat safely.
